Our tour will be paused indefinitely for now. I’ll post an update here when and if we’re continuing our promotional work. To explain it in short: We’ve run into a terrible situation today, and I need to focus on my family’s well-being for now. If there are any changes, I’ll post them as usual in this place. We’re promoting our film and conducting a million interviews, but between the appointments, I have time to explore the cities, of course with a camera! Vision Pro, and why it isn’t the magical device (I was hoping for)

Now it’s been almost 2 weeks. After endless waiting, I finally received my Vision Pro. It had survived the journey across the world unscathed, and the first few hours even brought the hoped-for ‘wow’ effect. But already on the second day, upon closer inspection, problems started for me. It’s incredibly annoying that I must look at what I want to click, often leading to misclicks. This, and the strange keyboard, could be overlooked, but I encountered a problem, and precisely in the use case that was most important to me: watching videos! With ambient light on, watching videos is comfortable. However, in a darker environment, bright parts of videos become so overpowering that it’s bothersome and cause fatigue and nausea after not even an hour. I don’t know what to call this problem, but for me, it’s a dealbreaker. Additionally, the device is really heavy and not comfortable to wear for extended periods, maybe a third-party strap fixes this. Apart from that, it’s fantastic technology and pretty much delivers on every promise Apple made. Sure, the AR video feed suffers from a lot of digital chroma noise, and I can only use it with the lights on, but none of the other issues I saw in reviews bother me. Well, I hope they’ll fix some of the worst quirks in updates, but my initial conclusion is rather mixed; I love the device, but I can’t use it for long, and it’s unsuitable for working with videos in its current state.
Maybe I should have ordered prescription lenses… but my eyesight is perfectly fine. No idea what’s going on, we will see if updates change anything.
Maybe this part is too thick for my face, I ordered size S. I’m not entirely sure, but I tried it without it and everything looked so much better, the brightness issue was gone, and the fox looked more natural, it was too narrow before in my opinion.
From contemptuously looking salesmen to a mobile flash system

Yesterday, we made a stop at a camera store during our layover to buy a small and old flash unit for a video we were about to shootwhich , means: for a very specific purpose! At first, they didn’t want to sell it to me and offered us much more expensive but useless options, and only when I insisted, it was sold to me with a very contemptuous glance, it was hilarious. I expected the guy to start yelling at us, cause we didn’t buy the 500€ option, which would have been worthless to us. That was amusing, and you’ll see why pretty soon in the YouTube shorts. It‘s gonna be more fun than our shopping trip for sure.
Server crashes & weird customer service

Well, it happened – the server I rented to host my portfolio and the services neededed went up in flames. This alone is already bad, but the data center where the server is located is unparalleled in incompetence. I spent a total of 6 hours on hold and was eventually assured that a new server would be taken care of. However, 48 hours later, everything was still offline. I have taken matters into my own hands now and will gradually adjust the content myself.
