Clash of whatever

Posted on October 4th 2025 by Édgar

Urban Warfare – that’s the title, even though it doesn’t really refer to a conventional war. It’s about the clash of cultures that has been waged for decades with increasing brutality and determination. Originally, the series consisted of just two images I created for someone in Mexico; they’re now framed and hanging in an office. However, the subject felt too important to let it gather dust, so I went on to translate other pivotal incidents into visual form.

I just published my web magazine!

Posted on August 25th 2025 by Édgar

Well, I thought it might take some time, but we’re pretty damn late to the party… Anyway, it’s finally here, we just finished and published the first issue of my web magazine!

You can take a look at it right now, here you go!

A step in between

Posted on July 27th 2025 by Édgar

I’m done with one job. Quite nice, but I also started shooting test footage for a new project. Which puts us straight back in action without any kinda break, and this might become exhausting in no time. But I’m so keen on trying some interesting things for the first time ever, it doesn’t bother me at all to lack free time. Now I got the option to shoot what I want, and make the scenes look exactly the way I imagine them, that’s pretty awesome!

There isn’t much more I could tell you at the moment, but I sure will post updates on the project as soon as it materializes! But of course there’s a catch, the flick contains a lot of explicit stuff, and will be declared as 18+, this means we won’t be able to post testfootage. But we will give our best to make a teaser cut with no age restrictions, no matter how dumb this might turn out to look.

You’re the audience, thank god I don’t have to watch the cut.

Edit: Just because I‘ve been asked multiple times this week already: no, we won‘t shoot porn. Totally different genre

Digital Cinema Package Distribution server and more tech stuff

Posted on March 28th 2025 by Édgar

I haven’t been posting anything for a while, but that’s not without reason. We have launched our production company and thus we’re in the process of gradually transferring all content and services to our shiny new servers. This process will take a few more weeks, but services and projects that have already been booked will continue to be carried out as usual.

But the best part is, we already set up our very own Digital Cinema Packet Distribution Servers, and those are ready to carry out whatever our Cinema throws at them. If you want to give it a try, message me!

Good things take some time, sometimes

Posted on March 8th 2025 by Édgar

Due to family stuff, I currently have very little time to work on my public projects and limited access to my computer in general. I will get through things step by step as I can, but unfortunately, this is the best I can do at the moment. Thanks for your patience!

Shop & booking closed for 9 days

Posted on Feb 3rd 2025 by Édgar

I have to temporarily close the shop and booking system for the next 9 days. Orders that have already been placed will, of course, still be shipped or processed. Starting February 13th, the show will go on!

Thanks for your patience, and stay tuned!

Project wrapped, looking ahead.

Posted on Jan 30th 2025 by Édgar

I just finished my latest project, a little earlier than we had aimed for, but I’m getting myself ready for the next one. Moving forward is important, right? Even though I’m somehow still figuring out what might come next, after the release of our current project. There are a few options, and I’m taking my time to decide what’s best. For now, I’m keeping my mind open and my viewfinder in sight.

Fairchild meets Fullframe

Posted on Jan 12th 2025 by Édgar

We’ve officially started production on our short film with the working title Artificial Deity. For this project, we’re using a Canon C200 as our A-Cam, while the B-Cam is a Canon 5D Mark III with a full-frame sensor and Magic Lantern firmware.

But here’s the exciting part: we’re also incorporating a Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera G1 into the production. Thanks to its Fairchild image sensor, it harmonizes beautifully with the Canon full-frame cameras. Based on our tests so far, this combination allows us to craft a truly unique look, especially with the addition of anamorphic lenses.

We’re also using digital film sets and greenscreens with motion capture markers for the first time, at least partially. This setup allows us to display a perspective-correct live film set rendered in Unreal Engine 5 on the field monitors. It makes it much easier for the actors to immerse themselves in the scene and deliver authentic performances.

Edit: By the way… as some might already have spotted, we will live-stream parts of the production to our youtube channel, for you to watch.

Cinecams, big plans, a stream, but no cables? Finally, we cut the dramedy!

Posted on Dec 27th 2024 by Édgar

We’ve outfitted our A and B cameras with streaming-ready transmitters, and just bought the cables and batteries we forgot on our trip, that means – now we can livestream workshops from anywhere on Earth with multiple cinema-grade digital cameras. Lights, camera, global action!

We’re almost done now, aren’t we?

Just in time for the holidays and the year’s grand finale, I’m thrilled to announce the release of my new web app bundle! You can access all of these tools for photo and video professionals now, optimized for seamless performance and available with an exclusive paid/premium account to unlock all the features you love to have in your project.

But wait, there’s more! We’re growing, BELLASARTES. now operates offices in both Germany and Switzerland, bringing us closer to our users in the heart of Europe. 🌍💚

Almost back to normal

Posted on Dec 4th 2024 by Édgar

After a legendary battle with the elusive account system, I emerged victorious! With login, signup, and probably a sprinkle of magic, the gears are turning smoothly now. The webzine is prepped, primed, and just about ready to take off, brace yourselves, internet, the launch is imminent! Also, the edflix section is about to receive it’s long overdue makeover, even though I broke my fingers and ruined my wrist. Stay tuned!

Ed knows…

Posted on Oct 22nd 2024 by Édgar

Yeah it’s true, I’ve been playing around with my showreel and while working on it, the whole edflix section went south in a matter of minutes, and I struggle to get it back online.

Just give me a couple of days, and everything will be back to normal soon.

Summer, and all things related to it

Posted on July 22th 2024 by Édgar

It’s finally summer! And once again, I’m taking the opportunity to spend it with my family at home, which still means traveling.

Unfortunately, this also means I won’t be working, and the negatives and undeveloped rolls of motion picture film are already piling up here. The photos currently making it into my gallery were taken about 6-8 months ago, so I’m that far behind schedule, and it will stay that way for a while unless I stop taking pictures for a bit…

Well, I’m pushing that thought aside for now and will deal with it after the vacation. I wish you all a wonderful holiday and lots of fun on your vacations!

Alright!

Posted on June 25th 2024 by Édgar

Only 6 days left, then we’ll be back, and I can start getting ready for the next trip. But in the meantime, it’s all about capturing fresh experiences and impressions in the City of Angels…

And this is what’s up!

Posted on April 28th 2024 by Édgar

I have used the past few weeks in a productive manner. I am working on a photo series that addresses European data protection laws and the right to one’s own image. Unfortunately, due to the unforeseen incident of the mall assassination attempt, I am far behind my deadline in terms of content. I am currently trying to catch up and working on bringing my portfolio back to an up-to-date status.

De show gaat door…

Posted on April 16th 2024 by Édgar

Due to unexpected interview requests and a promotional shoot, we’ll be staying a bit longer. But that’s totally fine. However, if you have any booking inquiries within the next two weeks, please take this into consideration. Or leave me a message, we will find a way to make it happen!

Working on a little something

Posted on April 5th 2024 by Édgar

It’s that time again, I’ve gathered enough material for a new street series, and I’m currently sorting the photos and creating a cohesive body of work from them.

It will be published as a gallery in the usual place. However, I also plan to make it available as a PDF zine, and you know where to find it!

Happy Easter everyone!

Posted on March 31th 2024 by Édgar

I wish all my friends, and my internet audience, a happy Easter and joyful celebrations!

Let’s hope you find lots of chocolate eggs and candies, or whatever you enjoy eating. In my case, it would be tacos, but I don’t think the Easter Bunny hides those…

Maybe next year!
